What actually happens during prayer?

Prayer is not about trying to manipulate the Divine for personal gain. It’s a sacred practice that can offer insight into our deepest desires and needs. Let us take an unprecedented approach—when we lift up our hearts in prayer, it will open doors of awareness that allow us to accept life with grace and courage. Prayer does not change God; rather, it changes US!

In this episode, we explore the essential attitude you need to cultivate a meaningful relationship with God. If you’re curious about mysticism, or you’re a mystic-in-the-making, this episode will give you a foundational understanding of the metaphysics of prayer. Listen closely now as we explain how prayer can enrich your soul.

I love this about prayer. It is so helpful to remember that prayer is not just petition, but a whole relationship with God as a friend and our guidance.

It is very helpful to get confirmation on what intuition ( God) may tell us if we just took the time to listen (pray) . Thank you Nina, I love listening to your podcasts.

Thank you Nina, you put so nicely into words a sense that I have always had about prayer but was not able to articulate. This really helps me to clarify my beliefs and inspired me too be more willing to take the time to pray. I look forward to your next segment about the nine types of prayer.

Nina, great topic. I’ve been struggling with some of the issues, like thinking God is some kind of Santa Claus and asking for stuff. Recently, I’ve tried just sitting down and talking to God. Somehow to led me to a feeling of gratitude and I knew I didn’t have to ask for stuff. I still don’t understand the part of how God is the being of essence (I think that’s what you said). But I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

Hi Steve, I’m glad to hear you had a good experience talking with God recently. I understand it can be challenging to wrap our minds around how God is essence, but I hope this series helps you better grasp that concept. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts in the upcoming episodes.

Thank you 🙏 Nina for this beautiful experience. I definitely was praying as a child to Santa sometimes. I asked for my daughter to pass her exam. As so important as last time she can do it. I did prayer for love ❤️ in the world and forgiveness too. This has helped me today. I have been struggling with prayer and this opened my heart to what prayer 🙏 is. Blessings. X

I loved it – so clear and eloquently expressed. It is good to be reminded that we need not focus on outcomes (petition prayer) and that we are meeting with a ‘friend’ – more like a conversation. Thank you, Nina.

Thank you for the kind words, Juliet. It’s so easy to get caught up in asking for things that we forget we’re engaging in a conversation with God. I’m glad to hear that this perspective resonated with you and wish you all the best!

Thanks so much Nina for the podcast and I’m looking forward to all of them..

I tend to use prayer most mornings to ask for guidance and then for help to trust in that guidance. I like the suggestion of praying to align with the person you were born to become.
