Here’s Why YOU Are a Saint in The Making

2 Comments Read More

You have a lot in common with the saints… Wild, I know! But before you spit out your green juice, hear me out: saints aren’t born, they’re made.

Padre Pio didn’t emerge from the womb with a halo on his head. Mother Teresa didn’t glow in the dark. These ‘extraordinary’ people started out quite ordinary. Saints start out as regular folks who strive for authenticity and compassion in everything they do.

What would that be like for you?

Imagine every interaction you have, from mingling at a dinner party to speaking on stage, being as natural and as truly ‘you’ as when you’re on the phone with your best friend.

What sets the saints apart is that they trust in the perpetual creativity of God, who brings beauty into the dark chaos of change. When their hours get cut at work, they see an opportunity to help out a struggling friend with her new baby.

The saints take life one day at a time. They know the universe has their back.

St. Francis nicknamed the saints “instruments of love”. He playfully refers to people as lumps of clay, ready to be sculpted by the divine potter.

Are you smooth and pliable in God’s hands? Or, are you stiff and resistant to change? If you can manage to let go of the death-grip on your baby blankly, you won’t regret it. 🙂

Did you notice that I’m describing you?

You are kind, talented and resilient; that’s why you’re a saint in the making. No one expects you to be perfect, not even God. I see you. I see your beautiful heart, and I’m cheering you on.

I made a video for you about St. Francis facing his fears and discovering hope surprising places…. If you need a dose of self-confidence, this video is for you.

Now, it’s your turn.

Reflect on the next step of your inner journey. Here are two questions to get you started. Make sure you share in the comments below. I would love to hear from you.

1. How can you face fear more gracefully?

2. What courageous step do you need to make to move forward in your life?

I’m excited to hear from you! It’s more important than ever to support one another to make healthy and positive choices in life.

Keep being awesome! xo

Thank you Nina for your email and video – it is a timely and lovely reminder for me and all of us to remember who we are and whose will we wish to carry out.
    1. In facing my fears more gracefully, I try to see them as ego-driven and self-serving, causing me to contract – I ask the Holy Spirit for help in opening my heart to see Christ-love in all people and that causes me to expand, breathe and wish be a channel for healing for us all.
    2. The courage that I need is to be more authentic in every area of my life, to express both my strengths and vulnerabilities as they arise, in a way that includes others and facilitates their authentic self-expression too.

    Thank you Nina!
How can I face fear gracefully?
A major change for me to sell my house and downsize. All the what ifs and letting go has been and is challenging. The shut down has enabled me to reflect and take heart that I am always guided and to trust the process. It does take courage to start over!
